"No Place Like Home: Lessons in Activism from LGBT Kansas" is the epic story of how a few disorganized and politically naive Kansans, realizing they were unfairly under attack, rolled up their sleeves, went looking for fights, and ended up making friends in one of the country's most hostile states. In other words, a love story.
Since 2018, LGBTQ Kansans enjoyed surprising progress followed by a virulent backlash. The book needed a sequel and there was no one better for the job than Academy Award-winning Kansas filmmaker Kevin Willmott. He's the director of No Place Like Home: The Struggle Against Hate in Kansas.
